Why Such Focus on Schools?
It all started when the founder, Marji (Marjana) NasrAllah, noticed her child's school decorating for the holidays. She noticed Eid was not recignized and couldn't bring herself to accept this idea of her child's holiday going unnoticed. She had a quick chat with the principal, and PROJECT: EID AWARENESS was born. She loves how Eid is used as a means of bridge-building between the Muslim community and their neighbors.
"School staff, students, the students' parents see our banner, or notice a new book on Eid their child borrowed from the school library, and start to ask questions.....their understanding of the Muslim community grows a bit. And this is done through holiday, through art, through something fun!" - Marji N.
